Meet our Chairman
Poised at the intersection of public relations, public policy and business advancement, Paul Welday is a seasoned business professional integrating the disciplines of campaign and issues management, strategic marketing communications and the navigation of complex political and regulatory environments. Having managed diverse public and private sector organizations, Mr. Welday is skilled in the art of dynamic leadership and visionary entrepreneurial development.
Mr. Welday serves as President and CEO of Renaissance Strategies LLC and managing partner of its subsidiary organization, Superior Capitol Consulting, LLC. Additionally, he is Senior Counsel to the Washington, D.C.-based Watts Partners.
He has served at the highest levels of government as Chief of Staff to a senior Member of Congress and on the staff of the U.S. House Appropriations Committee. Mr. Welday also served as Chief of Staff to the Mayor of Omaha, Nebraska. He is the past Chairman of the Oakland County (Michigan) Republican Party and the 14th District Republican Committee. Additionally, Mr. Welday serves a frequent radio and television guest commentator on public affairs and is a member of WDIV Local4's "Flashpoint" Roundtable.
In addition to professional and political interests, Mr. Welday currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Farmington Youth Assistance organization. He formerly served on the Board of Advisors of the R.L. Polk Company in Southfield, Michigan prior to its recent acquisition by IHS Automotive.
Meet our President
Suzie Mitchell brings a wealth of experience to The MRC. For the past 25 years she has served has principal of a national, full service public relations, public affairs, marketing research, polling, fundraising and political consulting firm. She has overseen management, operations and project budgets of more than 40 part-time employees and consultants. In addition, she pursued new business and maintained direct client relationships to deliver outstanding service.
She has managed client communications campaigns from planning and development to execution and measurement. Supervise account team members by setting priorities, delegating responsibilities and maintaining deadlines. She has developed strategies and overseen the execution of grass roots public affairs projects. Work with CEOs, senior management and elected officials to develop issues dialogue.
She has served a press secretary for Michigan statewide campaigns and spent seven years as the Director of Public Information for Oakland County, MI (population 1.1 million)
She also has an extensive background in fundraising. She served as Michigan Finance Director for Ronna Romney for U.S. Senate races in 1994 and 1996. She also was the only Michigan woman to be named a Pioneer for the 2000 Bush for President Campaign, where she raised $100,000.
Suzie became an independent finance consultant and raised money for various political candidates including members of the Michigan Supreme Court and the longest serving Dean of the U.S. House former Congressman John D. Dingell, Jr.
During the past few years, her passion for quality healthcare and her journalism background lead her to writing about technology and medical advances for chronic disease. lead her to
Her writings have appeared in numerous national and international magazines and newspapers. She wrote a regular blog for AARP on technology and Baby Boomers.
She is the founding author of the Boomer Voices blog for Healthworks Collective. She also authored the chapter on Boomers and Mobile for the book The Everything Guide to Mobile Apps and co- authored the book How to Market Digital Healthcare devices to Boomers, Seniors and Caregivers.
Her work as a healthcare writer gave her insight into the growing need for medical marijuana and the aging population. She is a strong advocate for legal, safe and regulated medical marijuana.
